Compliance Specialist I
Conduct compliance reviews of files, bank records, and operating procedures to determine adherence to banking regulations and makes recommendations relating to process changes, training, and/or corrective action to business line management in order to fulfill regulatory requirements. A certain degree of creativity, diplomacy and latitude is required.
- Conducts assigned compliance monitoring review tasks and recommends updates to department procedures based upon review findings and observations noted. Effectively communicates issues and action items.
- Obtains, documents, analyzes and appraises evidentiary data as a basis for an informed objective opinion based on regulatory guidance.
- Assists in the maintenance of the Compliance Issue Tracking log, making entries and updates as directed.
- Conducts follow up with business units on items as directed, including implementation and status of monitoring review recommendations and/or findings and escalates unresolved issues appropriately.
- Participates in administration functions of the Compliance Department.
Compliance Specialist III
Conduct compliance reviews of files, bank records, and operating procedures to determine adherence to banking regulations and makes recommendations relating to process changes, training, and/or corrective action to business line management in order to fulfill regulatory requirements. A certain degree of creativity, diplomacy and latitude is required.
• Conducts assigned compliance monitoring reviews by following prescribed scope documents and performs testing to validate adherence to consumer protection regulations using basic analytical procedures.
• Collects documents, forms, procedures, reports and other work product to be tested during compliance monitoring reviews, collaborating with business line partners as needed.
• Assist in managing the Compliance Issue Tracking log, inclusive of Self-Monitoring Review results, making entries and updates as needed.
• Conducts follow up with business units on items as directed, including implementation and status of compliance monitoring review recommendations and/or findings, as well as internal audit and examination citations, and escalates unresolved issues.
• Reviews advertisements (including branch flyers, posters, notices, marketing brochures, internet, email, television, radio, statement messages, etc.) for adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
• Conducts regulatory research, as needed or requested.
• Assists with document collection for audits and regulatory examinations as requested.
• Acts as a resource for resolution and guidance on compliance issues.
• Supports compliance partners as needed, including conducting face to face trainings.
• Conducts and/or provides assistance on special projects as required.
• Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
• This individual must possess knowledge in Digital an AI and be technology driven.
Fair and Responsible Banking Officer
The Fair and Responsible Banking Officer (FRBO) will provide relevant firmwide compliance risk management coverage including all aspects of treating customers fairly aligned with key regulations, such as UDAAP/UDAP, Elder Abuse laws and Americans with Disability Act. The FRBO assures all protected consumers and businesses have fair and equal access to banking services and assesses customer treatment risk across all business lines. The role provides strategic support to all business leaders including driving effective “treating customers fairly” compliance risk management, offering credible challenge, escalation of issues and reporting as appropriate.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensuring that Provident is complying with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, as they relate to consumer fairness, and has appropriate policies, procedures, and controls relating to such requirements.
• Developing and implementing a comprehensive compliance program to ensure effective compliance risk management across all areas of responsibility and providing regular reporting to management governance committees.
• Developing senior management relationships with key stakeholders and informing senior management of significant compliance matters that require their attention or action.
• Proactively anticipating and working with the appropriate compliance professionals to plan for changes in the fair lending and regulatory environment.
• Staying connected with peer organizations and regulatory community to ensure Provident is driving leading edge practices.
• Driving all processes to be innovative and efficient.
• Providing support to senior management on policy interpretation and “grey area” exposures.
• Serve as liaison with regulatory examiners and Internal Audit on critical compliance issues and oversee the implementation of related remediation.
• Coordinating the execution of core compliance activities related to the development of new products.
